The official representative of Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich expressed deep concern on Turkey’s treatment towards the passengers of Moscow-Damascus flight.
As RBC reports the representatives of Russian FM noted that they are concerned that passengers’ lives and security was endangered including 17 citizens of Russia. According to Lukashevich’s words Turkish side didn’t inform RF Embassy to Ankara that there were RF citizens among the passengers.
Without explanations and violating the agreements between the embassies, Turkish authorities refused the Russian diplomats to meet with Russian citizens, who were kept in the plane for 8 hours.
The plane landed on October 10th by the demand of Turkish military aviation doubting as if the plane carries military weapons. After several searches, they were set free, but they confiscated radio station equipment which was considered as weapon by the Turkish. Turkey-Syria relations go severe day by day, as Turkey obviously supports the Syrian opposition.
