Georgian media, citing the announcements of Giya Khukhashvili, Bidzina Ivanishvili,s advisor, reports that the Georgian Dream coalition is planning to examine the situation at Georgian railways and a staff reshuffle is likely to take place.
“The rail network is a strategic area of geopolitical importance. The company is experiencing a number of infrastructure problems and priorities are being distributed in the wrong way,” he noted.
According to him the project which connected Tbilisi airport and railway station through the rail network cost $17 billion, but income amounted to 6000 lari ($1=1.66 lari). This is why the incoming government has questions regarding the bypass rail project at Tbilisi.
