The course of Georgia’s foreign policy will not change, the country will continue its integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures, but at the same time we will begin to restore relations with Russia. This was anounced today, October 8, at a meeting with journalists in Tbilisi by Maya Panjikidze, who is the candidate of Ivanishvili’s government for the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
On October 8, Bidzina Ivanishvilii represented Maya Panjikidze, who was in Germany from 2004 to 2007, and was the Ambassador to Georgia in the Netherlands in 2007 -2010, as a candidate for the post of Foreign Minister.
“Georgia’s foreign policy will not change. Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures is the choice of the Georgian people. I worked in the diplomatic service for 16 years, during which it has been the basis of my work. Our main partner will be the United States and we need to deepen this relationship. But we should not forget our neighbors. We need to normalize relations with Russia. Although we may not be able to regulate relations within 1-2 days, “said Panjikadze.
According to her, Georgia should find areas of common interests with Russia. At the same time, she noted that “the restoration of the territorial integrity of Georgia’s foreign and domestic policies will prevail.”
