Azerbaijani media, citing the announcement of the country’s foreign ministry, reports that Azerbaijan has empowered the permanent representative office of the country in UN to declare the position of official Baku on the situation in Syria.
Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, Elman Abdullayev, said that Baku is closely watching the processes in the Middle East.
“Azerbaijan, as a member of the UN Security Council, speaks for restoration of stability in Syria and end of killing of innocent people” said Abdulayev adding “the declaration of Azerbaijan’s position is empowered to the permanent representative office of Azerbaijan in UN.”
