Azerbaijani media reports that Ilham Aliyev, during the Second Baku International Humanitarian Forum, said that it is very important for Azerbaijan to gain experience in the field of multiculturalism.
“Multiculturalism is one of the main topics of the forum. I am sure that very valuable ideas and discussions will be held on the subject. I think that multiculturalism is very important and necessary for our country. It is very important for Azerbaijan to gain experience in the field of multiculturalism” stressed Aliyev.
Aliyev, emphasizing that multiculturalism is the way of life of Azerbaijani people, said that despite the fact that it is a relatively new concept, it was inherent in Azerbaijan’s people for centuries.
“For centuries, representatives of different religions and nationalities lived in Azerbaijan as one family. Azerbaijan has never been and I am sure it will not have disagreements on religious or ethnic grounds”.
