The leader of “Georgian Dream” coalition Bidzina Ivanishvili’s counselor Gia Khukhasvili, answering the announcement of the president of Belarus on Georgia’s returning to CIS, noted that the issue is not realistic for the newly-elected parliament.
“This issue is not included in the agenda of Georgian new authorities.”- Khukhashvili reported to “Interfax”. “It is possible that president Lukashenko persuaded Saahakashvili to return to CIS. Moreover, Saahakashvili would agree to join Russia for the sake of his salvation”, he announced.
It was earlier reported that the president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko had taken up the role of returning Georgia to CIS.
“I think that the summit of CIS countries to take place next year is most likely to take place in Minsk. It will be my affair. If the summit takes place in Minsk, I will do everything that Georgia returned to CIS.”- he had mentioned.
We note that earlier on October 1st in the parliamentary elections in Georgia the “Georgian Dream” coalition had claimed victory, and Sahakashvili accepted his defeat and announced about his party to become an opposition.
