РИА Новости reports that Russia hopes that mutual relations with Georgia as well as general situation in Transcaucasia will be regulated, informed the official representative of foreign ministry of Russia Alexander Lukashevich during a briefing when commenting on the results of parliamentary elections in Georgia.
“Taking into account the results of the elections, we hope that time will come for constructive changes enabling to regulate both the mutual relations and the situation in Transcaucasia. It must be noted that it was Sahakashvili’s initiative to cut the diplomatic ties. The elections in Georgia need to be injected with sense. We will judge not the statements of Georgian political leaders but their steps as we did in case other country. Russia kept friends with Georgia for ages.”
