Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev announced that Azerbaijan continues negotiations with the World Trade Organization (WTO). He stated that the upcoming meeting of Azerbaijan under the WTO is to be held in October.
“We are intensively negotiating both on a multilateral and bilateral basis. There are parts, where our positions coincide with the positions of the WTO, and there are parts, where it is not the same. Given that Russia held negotiations with the WTO for 18 years, and we only 8, we have achieved great results in the negotiations. We can say that we have passed more than half way “- said Mammadguliyev.
To the question whether Armenia hinders Azerbaijan’s entry into the WTO, Mammadguliyev answered that Armenia has a commitment to this organization, and that it will not impede Azerbaijan’s entry into the WTO.
“We also strongly stated our position: Azerbaijan will not have any contact with Armenia in the framework of the organization. Azerbaijan continues negotiations, and we look forward to their success, “- concluded Mammadguliyev.
