“Hungary has nothing to fear for returning Azeri Ramil Safarov to Azerbaijan. Hungary acted in accordance with international law.” Hungarian State Secretary Peter Shiyart said this when making speech on Hungarian public television.
“Extradition was organized according to the Strasbourg Convention on prisoners,” he said. Answering the question that there has been a secret deal between Budapest and Baku on the issue of Safarov, he said that the people who nominate such hypotheses are “fantasts”; there was no deal.
Peter Shiyart told TV2 channel that if Hungary infringed any point in international resolution, then there would have been a real scandal.
