On May 12, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Lilya Sirakanian participated in the workshop “Marketing and Promotion of Armenian Products in the Food Markets of Sweden and the EU”.
In her speech, the Deputy Minister noted that Armenia attaches importance to economic cooperation with Sweden, and that such initiatives serve as an important platform for exchanging experience, generating new ideas, and increasing the competitiveness of Armenian products in international markets.
“The economy of Armenia is developing not only quantitatively, but also qualitatively. Our goal is to diversify the economy and align Armenian products with international standards, and the Government of the Republic of Armenia is implementing numerous support programs to achieve this. Economic development is the main priority of the Government in conditions of established peace,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.
The launch of the three-year initiative (2026–2028) aims to support Armenian food producers in strengthening export destinations and creating new opportunities in the Swedish and European markets.
The Swedish National Trade Council organized the event in collaboration with Open Trade Gateway Sweden (OTGS), the International Trade Center (ITC), ITC’s EU-funded “Building Sustainable Apparel and Agribusiness Value Chains in Armenia” project, and the Embassy of Sweden.
The expanded cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia aims to support Armenian small- and medium-sized food enterprises in increasing exports and accessing Swedish, Scandinavian, and European markets.
The workshop was attended by representatives of the EU Delegation, the UN, the Swedish Embassy, government agencies, and the business community.
