Armenian athletes won 9 medals at the Kyokushin Karate European Championship held in Trikala, Greece. The Armenian team participated in the European Championship with 13 athletes and won 4 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals.
The gold medalists were Elen Yepremyan, Erik Kostandyan, Alen Yegoryan, and Mher Temiryan. Victoria Hayrapetyan took second place, and Vahagn Hakobyan, Artur Zakaryan, David Marabyan, and Volodya Mkrtchyan won bronze medals.
The Armenian athletes left for the competition site under the leadership of the President of the Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia, Shihan Andranik Hakobyan. The athletes were also accompanied by coaches Gevorg Manukyan and Sargis Hakobyan.
The federation provided financial support to the winners of the Armenian championship to enable them to participate in the European championship. Around 450 athletes from 23 countries participated in the European Championships.
