Vahram Atanesyan, a former member of the Supreme Council of Armenia and the National Assembly of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, wrote on his Facebook page:
“Putin’s plan to build a “Greater Eurasia” or a Slavic-Turkic empire and inflict a strategic defeat on Euro-Atlantic civilization has failed. Just as Mustafa Kemal misled the Bolsheviks in the 1920s with the promise of a “socialist revolution” and then quietly crossed over to the Western camp, so Erdogan has cruelly deceived Putin, removing Azerbaijan and the Turkic-speaking countries of Central Asia from Russia’s influence. But why should Armenia pay for this strategic defeat? Does anyone have an articulate answer?”
