President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon during his working visit to Kazakhstan.
The presidents expressed satisfaction that relations between the two countries are developing in a stable, positive direction, covering a range of areas of cooperation. At the same time, both sides emphasized that there is significant, not yet fully realized potential, the full use of which requires targeted, consistent steps, as well as the expansion of joint initiatives.
During the conversation, the parties discussed in detail regional developments, emphasizing that, following the August 2025 events, a qualitatively new situation has emerged in the South Caucasus. In this context, it was noted that the created realities open up new opportunities for the region and neighboring countries to rethink their cooperation and build it on more predictable, mutually beneficial, and long-term foundations. Particular importance was attached to peace, stability, and the development of communications as prerequisites for economic activity and the deepening of mutual ties.
During the meeting, the presidents exchanged views on ways to expand cooperation in the economy, high technologies and artificial intelligence, agriculture, education and science, and other promising areas. The importance of promoting innovation, developing scientific and educational ties, exchanging professional experience and best practices, and implementing joint programs that can contribute to the economic growth and competitiveness of the two countries was emphasized.
The parties also attached importance to the continued strengthening of cooperation on international and regional platforms, emphasizing the need to effectively use multilateral formats. In this context, the promotion of comparable agendas and the convergence of positions on issues of common interest were emphasized, for the benefit of both countries and wider regional stability.
At the end of the meeting, the presidents reaffirmed their readiness to continue developing and deepening bilateral relations, bringing them to a qualitatively new level.
