On April 17, within the framework of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, a bilateral meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan was held in Istanbul.
During the meeting, the latest processes within the framework of the normalization of relations between the two countries were noted with satisfaction, including steps aimed at strengthening peace and stability, as well as the establishment and expansion of trade ties.
The Inter-Parliamentary Union’s role as an important platform for inter-parliamentary cooperation was emphasized. In this context, the parties highly appreciated and expressed gratitude to the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Martin Chungong, for his personal efforts to establish a dialogue between the Speakers of the Parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Speakers of the Parliaments positively assessed the contacts between the parliamentary delegations within the framework of international organizations, which began after their meeting in Geneva in October 2025, and agreed to continue these contacts.
The Speakers of the Parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan emphasized the importance of continuing constructive parliamentary dialogue to strengthen trust between the two societies further.
