The “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO reports:
“Due to the penetration of a tropical warm air wave, an extremely high thermal background has been observed in the republic for the last 5 days.
On February 17, the average daily air temperature was 7-12 degrees above normal, and in several regions the maximum temperature recorded during the day exceeded the maximum values ever observed for that day.”
