Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received a delegation led by the Head of the Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood Policy of the European Commission, Gert-Jan Koopman. The meeting was also attended by Adrien Kiraly, Director for Eastern Neighbourhood and Institution Building of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission, and Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.
Issues related to the implementation of the strategic agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership were discussed at the meeting, with particular emphasis on the importance of fully implementing the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
Mher Grigoryan and Gert-Jan Koopman also exchanged views on regional connectivity programs and touched upon the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative. The interlocutors also discussed the joint work carried out under the Economic and Investment Plan.
Ahead of the visit of EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos and the Armenia-EU summit, the parties agreed to continue work on defining possible new initiatives for Armenia-EU cooperation.
