An explosion has occurred in the center of Oslo, the Norwegian capital. Police later found and defused a second explosive device. A suspect has already been arrested.
The explosion occurred not far from the royal palace and the Israeli embassy. There were no reports of injuries.
According to police, the second device was a military grenade. “We have arrested one suspect and are continuing to search and pursue others. Our main hypothesis is that this is a dispute between criminals, but we are not ruling out any possibility,” said police spokesman Skotnes, emphasizing that the area is currently safe.
Norwegian TV2 and Aftenposten, citing anonymous sources, reported that the suspect is 13 years old. Skotnes refused to confirm or comment on the information.
It is worth noting that the incident occurred a day after reports of drones appearing near airports in Oslo and Copenhagen.
