Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced his readiness to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the issue of territories.
Zelensky also noted that initially, Russia proposed a bilateral Ukraine-Russia meeting, but later, there was talk of a trilateral format.
“Russia proposed a trilateral meeting first between me and Putin, and then with Trump. We are ready for meetings at the level of leaders in any format,” he noted. Zelensky also added that he wants to discuss the issue of territories directly with Putin, without any preconditions.
Zelensky shared that during the meeting with the US President, he argued over the occupied territories, which were marked on the map, and emphasized that he is very familiar with this issue. “No unacceptable decisions were made,” the Ukrainian President noted.
He also said that the head of the White House contacted the Russian President to organize another meeting.
“We had a bilateral discussion. Then, in an expanded format, we went into more detail about our steps for security guarantees and possible meetings. After that, President Trump said, “I’m going to go now and discuss this with Putin so that I can come back with his response, frankly. And we discussed that response as well,” Zelensky said.
