RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan announced at a joint press conference with the acting president of the CSCE that the replacement of armed forces with border guards on the border with Azerbaijan should be part of the final settlement.
According to him, the border guard services in all countries differ from the armed forces in terms of equipment and even weapons.
Mirzoyan noted that the transfer of border control to the border guard service will significantly reduce the probability of further new conflicts, including invasion of the territory of Armenia. He reminded that there are border guards in some parts of the border between the two countries, and experience shows that the probability of clashes is lower in those areas.
