NA Speaker Alen Simonyan, referring to CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov’s visit to Armenia, responded, “That he came, what? I want to understand what changed with that coming.”
To the journalist’s observation that the CSTO General Secretary visited Jermuk, he asked a rhetorical question: “And?”
Simonyan noted that the CSTO needs to take the steps it should take, demonstrating its absence. Simonyan said that these visits did not prevent Azerbaijan from resorting to aggressive actions two days later, “And from the political point of view, he came and went. Let them come; let them go. The issue will still need to be resolved. They will come and go, which will not prevent any action after two days. We have the experience of this after the visits of higher officials.
Simonyan noted that regardless of the system RA is in, it always tries and seeks to ensure its security in all possible places, “And you often see that it receives a sharp reaction from the same CSTO.”
