Ruben Rubinyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Armenia, Christina Quinn, on February 27.
Congratulations on assuming the position; Ruben Rubinyan expressed his belief that Christina Quinn will contribute to the deepening of Armenian-American cooperation with her activities.
Issues related to bilateral partnerships and friendly relations were discussed at the meeting. It was noted that inter-parliamentary cooperation’s format is essential in Armenian-American regards.
Presenting the situation in the region, Ruben Rubinyan voiced the imperative to immediately stop Azerbaijan’s illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor and curb Azerbaijan’s aggressive and confrontational policy.
The ambassador valued the deepening of Armenian-American cooperation and the establishment of peace in the region.
Thoughts were exchanged on the process of normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations.
