Musa Mikayelyan states in his political analysis that the RP will have a congress today where Serzh Sargsyan will be nominated as a candidate. The latter managed to make Tsarukyan withdraw from his possible candidacy. Mikayelyan says the intrigue that was present is now dead and the other opposition candidates in the face on Raffi Hovhannisian and Levorn Ter-Petrosyan today do not possess that leverage to influence the course of the elections. Even Tsarukyan could not achieve it in case he was a candidate.
These upcoming elections are going to be very favorable for Sargsyan, Mikayelyan mentions. The elections may be favorable, but the condition Armenia is now in is the most miserable one.
This is the defeat of Armenia despite the results of the election because the people of Armenia have lost in this game.
Mikayelyan concludes it is everyone’s fault the country today is in such an inextricable state, including Serzh Sargsyan and the so called alternative power and the opposition. If this game was suitable for Sargsyan, it is not clear what was suitable in here for the other powers. All the opposition and the alternative power managed to do was bringing the arena of values and ideologies down to intrigues where the incumbent government feels like a fish in the water. Thus Mikayelyan states the RP congress today is nothing but the marathon of defeat of the Republic of Armenia.
