A legendary football player, former captain Sargis Hovsepyan talked to UEFA Training Ground about the role of being skipper and preparing for an international.
Hovsepyan noted that it is a big responsibility and at the same time a big happiness to be in the National team. “You try to give your best to the team and be an example, you try to play better and help your friends on the field.”
“The captain’s aim is to promote team values. That’s our mission”, said Hovsepyan adding, “I have to transmit this message, so they do play for the national team and not for themselves.”
The legend noted that the quality level of the players in the Armenian National team is very high and his role was not in teaching the other players how to play, but to create a good atmosphere and to avoid the disputes in the team.
