“First Armenian News and Analysis” conducted an interview with the first deputy of State Income Committee Armen Alaverdyan. The media noted that last year when T. Sargsyan announced that taxes will be increased by 101 billion AMD, Armen Alaverdyan and G.Khachatryan expressed their concern and asked how is process going on.
“During 9 months we reached certain results, but the last 4 months will be crucial. We are not interested whether we do 101 billion or not. We are more interested in the budget execution.”- said Armen Alaverdyan. To the observation that it was announced in June that only 15 billion are assembled the official answered: “It was a experimental estimate. If we do 245-billion project, we can do 101-billion one as well. The budget is a law and we must do it. When it was announced of 101-billion additional revenue, I brought an example of the absence of any relative and comparative economic growth during independence years. Of course during these 10 years the macroeconomic situation has changed, there has been inflation. To date the increase in income is a serious challenge for 2012 and 2013 budgets.”
The media noted he complained of additional taxes and this was long discussed, moreover 2013 budget supposes increase of 120 billion AMD and asked why Armen Alaverdyan doesn’t complain now.
“We are an administrative body and we are supposed to feel more risks and take more responsibility. In some estimates that justify the risks and there are some that do not. I say once more that 101 and 120 billions’ increase including legislative changes are not in the framework of our agency. It must be the result of general economic progress of our country.”
