Azerbaijani media reports that President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, made a speech concerning Nagorno-Karabakh conflict at the International Conference “Construction of Bridges” held in Baku.
“The most important issue for the country is the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, because the conflict is not frozen and the peace is rather brittle,” said Aliyev adding “It is really a very dangerous situation. The condition of “no peace, no war” can’t last forever. Armenians want to keep the status quo and don’t want to change anything and to liberate “occupied territories”. They don’t want to listen to OSCE Minsk group co-chairs, who also agree that the status-quo must be changed and in order to change it Armenians must leave the territories.”
In the end Aliyev noted that it is already 18 years since there is a cease-fire in the region, but it only serves for a brittle peace.
