On 3 September, President of Azerbaijan IlhamAliyev received credentials of newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United States to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar.
As Azer TAj reports the ambassador passed in front of the guard of honor and presented his credentials to the Azerbaijani president. During the follow up conversation Morningstar is reported to have recalled with pleasure that he visited Azerbaijan for the first time in 1995, participated with his spouse in a conference in the country, held in 2002 jointly by the American council on international education within the mutual exchange program and met with Azerbaijani national leader HeydarAliyev and President Ilham Aliyev.
The head of state expressed his satisfaction for seeing Richard Morningstar in Azerbaijan. President Aliyev thanked Morningstar for contributing to convergence of relations and economic development of the country over the last 20 years, wishing a successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and US.
The president highly appreciated the support of the US and personal role of Richard Morningstar in the implementation of Baku-Tbilisi-Dzeyhan and other energy project. President Aliyevadded that relations between the two countries will evolve successfully during the diplomatic activity of Morningstar in Azerbaijan.
