The ruling power knows that the territory of RA is 29,743 km2, and we know that 208 km2 of it is under the occupation of Azerbaijan, and we present this demand to return that territory. Said Maria Karapetyan, deputy of the KP faction of the National Assembly, in response to the observation of Artur Khachatryan, deputy of the “Armenia” faction, that Baku should make a demand to withdraw from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.
Maria Karapetyan asked Khachatryan whether the latter knows the surface from which Armenia should defend itself and how many km2 should be de-occupied to restore Armenia’s territory.
Khachatryan also noted that the deputy refers to the maps of the Armed Forces of the USSR, but the Armenian Armed Forces also have maps that show the contact line. “There is a decision of the Government of RA, which equated the line of contact with the state border.”
According to Khachatryan, when Azerbaijan has occupied 208 km2, it is necessary to talk so that the latter returns the territories simultaneously. “Today, Azerbaijan has occupied territory from us. It should be primary. You say, let’s say this, but what will Azerbaijan say? Let him say whatever he wants. The people say: bring back 208 km2, but they say no. Look at your responsibility towards the territorial integrity of Armenia, not Azerbaijan.”
