The head of Georgian Partnership Fund Irakli Kovzanadze said on Tuesday that the fund is building a thermal power plant with a capacity of 230 megawatts with a Turkish partner.
“This project had to be implemented by Inter RAO, but for some reason the agreement was broken. The Partnership Fund started the implementation of the project, and 50 million was invested in the construction during the summer”, he said.
As he noted the station is being built by the fund in cooperation with the Turkish company, negotiations with which will be restarted in mid-January.
According to him, the growth of the economy in 2014 and 2015 will increase energy consumption leading to the need for a reserve plant.
