Member of “Christian Democratic Revival” party, a member of the Armenian National Congress Sos Gimishyan, commenting on the information that the PAP leader won’t run, said. “To tell the truth, I am not much interested in the nomination of Gagik Tsarukyan. I am interested in what Congress is going to do.”
In response to our question whether the fact of Tsarukyan’s not running can increase Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s election chances, Sos Gimishyan said. “I do not think so. I do not connect it with that at all.”

“I wasn’t waiting and never had any hopes connected with the PAP’s decision. Of course, there were political forces in the ANC that had such hopes, but it’s their business. Our party had a different position. ”
Reporters also asked Sos Gimishyan whether this step of Tsarukyan means that the party has come to an agreement with the authorities, as it was expected.
“They have always been a power. When were they against the power? They have always been part of the government and never the opposition.
