Georgia’s new authorities do not intend to give up NATO membership for the sake of improvement of relations with Russia. This was reported by the Vice Speaker of the Georgian parliament Zviad Dzidziguri.
“Georgia’s diplomatic team is conscious enough to not to let the improvement of relations with Russia prevent NATO membership,” said the politician.
At the same time, the former speaker of the Georgian parliament Nino Burjanadze said that for NATO membership they need to improve relations with Russia.
Note that Bidzina Ivanishvili, leader of “Georgian Dream” winning coalition announced that the prior aim of the new government will be the normalization of relations with Russia.
