In connection with the 40th day after Military doctor Vahe Avetyan’s death, Armenian Student Association of Belgium “Hayasa” has organized a mourning candlelight vigil and informative meeting entitled “The Armenian citizen in today’s Armenia”.
The event took place in the St. Mary Magdalene Armenian Church.
The “Hayasa” members note that they are particularly concerned about the situation of fear, impunity and permissiveness as a result of which the ordinary citizen is in defenseless condition.
“A Young, 32-year-old medical officer didn’t die in the battlefield from enemy bullet or in a car accident, but was killed by ignorant trash”, is written in the message.
According to them, Vahe Avetyan’s tragedy is a challenge to the “healthy” forces of the Armenian society which don’t stop fighting for the supremacy of law and justice.
The Armenian students say that they won’t be silent since silence is equal to suicide.” It is time to clear the country of the trash” the statement reads.
