On Tuesday NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Ramussen has urged Georgia to continue democratic reforms in order to achieve NATO standards.
He thanked Georgia for its participation in NATO operations in Afghanistan, saying that Georgia is a reliable partner of the alliance. Rasmussen highly estimated the elections held in Georgia and its democratic transfer of power.
Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze will deliver a speech at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers. Panjikidze told Georgian media that she intends to focus on the change of power in Georgia and assuring that the new power strengthens democracy in the country. A meeting of the NATO-Georgia commission will be held in Brussels on December 5.
