Aram Amatuni in his political analysis discusses the PAP-ANC relationship which has already shown sign of jealousy, particularly PAP’s reaction on the ANC’s decision. As has been previously reported, ANC decision to form a special commission on March 1 events was postponed for a year after the consultations with the RP. Hovik Abrahamyan publicly declared that Serzh Sargsyan will discover those responsible for March 1 events and this announcement annoys the PAP since it believes this cooperation might go deeper than just the discussion of a parliamentary commission on the case a year later.
Amatuni states the RP being a majority in the parliament could solve the issue by itself via voting against the bill which was actually done. This is another reason for the PAP to be “jealous” of the ANC and RP cooperation, since the RP has already agreed to transfer the discussion a year later.
As Amatuni goes on, it is not fair from the PAP to blame the ANC completely since the latter refused the Western political support and shifted towards Russia fundamentally to support the PAP and not it turns out that Tsarukyan without any discussions with the ANC left for Brussels leaving the ANC on the Moscow line.
Amatuni concludes it is not clear what this love-hate relationship will end with, but the fact that the PAP an the ANC have few in common will make the “divorce” easy, painless both for themselves and for the country as a whole.
