Credit investments of commercial banks (including loans to non-residents) in October decreased by 0.1 percent, or 7.6 million lari ($ 1 = 1.66 lari) compared to the previous month, and amounted to 8, 6 billion lari as of November 1.
According to the National Bank of Georgia, the volume of loans granted during the period in local currency increased by 2 million lari (0.1 percent), and in foreign currency – by 9.6 million (0.2 percent). The commercial banks provided resident legal entities with the loans in the national currency to the amount of 871.4 million lari by late October 2012 (3.4 percent or 31.9 million lari less than in the previous month), in foreign currency – 3.8 billion lari (0.5 percent or 18.5 million lari less).
