The member of the “Hayazn” union, political scientist Armen Aghayan today said in 1991 then incumbent government tool care so that Artsakh did not participate in the freedom voting. When asked whether Armenia should follow the example of Azerbaijan and be united in Artsakh freedom, Aghayan stated we do not need a country of sheep, diversity in opinions is a must for have sound discussions and a solution. He added Armenia should go for compromises and declaring Artsakh a free country we shall lose territories. It is not a secret Artsakh is dependent on Armenia. According to Aghayan Artsakh is not a negotiating party, it does not have its army and cannot be considered a country. He clarified when saying declaring Artsakh free he meant declaring Artsakh free from Azerbaijan.
The member of the union stated while discussing issues concerning Artsakh they by all means take into consideration the opinion of the people of Artsakh and since they are deprived of the right to participate in pan-Armenian elections, they try to restore this today.
