Georgian media recalls that country’s FM Maia Panjikidze during her visit to the United States is holding meetings in Washington, the main topic of which is the recent processes in Georgia and arrests of former and current senior officials.
As Panjikidze told Georgian journalists following the meetings, the importance of transparency in the investigation of crimes was stressed at the meetings which already take place in Georgia.
She met with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a presidential adviser, senators and congressmen and is also scheduled to meet with Senator John McCain and make a speech at the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
Before that Panjikidze met with Democrat Senator Ben Cardin and Republican Congressman David Dreier.
As Cardin said, the meeting expressed readiness to continue and deepen bilateral relations.
