Azerbaijani sources report that Georgia will start negotiations on a framework agreement on participation in crisis management operations under the European Union.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton said during the press conference in Tbilisi on Monday that she has been invited to Georgia to take part in these negotiations.
“I have noted the role of Georgia in international security and its participation in international operations and invited Georgia to begin negotiations with the EU on the framework agreement on the participation in the operations of the EU crisis management” Ashton said.
According to the information this agreement provides participation in civil operations relating to the conservation and promotion of peace in post-conflict situations, legal and medical assistance and also military aid.
