Yesterday the head of the trade unions of Georgia Irakli Petriashvili told the First News and Analyses that the employees in Poti harbor keep on striking and the situation is becoming more unbearable.
The trade unions of Georgia are trying to negotiate with the harbor administration to offer the employees normal working conditions. Petriashvili states the harbor administration does not want to hear anything and did not exclude the option of dispersing the strikers with the police force. The head of the union told if the labor codebook underwent amendments and the 16th century slavery conditions were eliminated, the issue could conclude to a normal solution. Poti harbor administration is a Denmark company and that the Georgians are paid very little amount of money compared to Denmark.
