The difference in views inside the Armenian National Congress is conditioned mainly by its policy. In the interview with “1in.am News and Analysis” said the leader of Christian-Democratic Renaissance Party, Sos Gimishyan: “I think there will be no serious changes in Congress before the presidential elections. After it there will be some changes that will make the Congress more united. Losses are also possible. I think that even with changes the body is possible to develop and recover,” said Gimishyan
To the question about the joint candidate of the opposition from the point of view of their party, Gimishyan answered that joint candidate is a fake concept for them. “There are 15 parties in Armenian National Congress. If all of them are for one joint candidate, it will be what it is called a joint candidate. Otherwise it is not acceptable for me.”
Sos Gimishyan mentioned that he does not see the cooperation of ANC with other political units. He does not see future in cooperation with them, namely with PAP. “There are little chances of our success in these presidential elections. I estimate the chances the same way as in parliamentary elections, where ANC gained 7%. I hope I would be wrong and the ANC’s candidate will win”, he said.
To the question whether Christian-Democratic Renaissance Party will leave ANC if the latter cooperates with other political parties, Gimishyan answered, “I don’t see any such candidate that we can support outside the Armenian National Congress. Today I can say that we won’t support someone outside our party that is why ANC cannot make such decisions.
