Russian “VZGLYAD” daily writes that Bidzina Ivanishvilli, head of the oppositional “Georgian Dream” party, with her wife Ekaterina Khvedelidze has entered a voting place.
As reported, he didn’t vote himself but his wife did. After it Ivanishvilli talked to the journalists and said:
“This is the first time in Georgia’s history that democratic elections are held. I decided to become a politician in order to develop my country and help Georgian nation. I hope that 2/3 part of the parliament’s places will be ours.”
We should recall that in June, 2012, Georgian parliament adopted the so called “Ivanishvilli’s law” according to which, EU citizens, who were born in Georgia, or have lived there in past 5 years can participate and be nominated in the elections.
People say that this law was adopted especially for Ivanishvilli, since he is a French citizen.
