Serj Tankjan, famous American- Armenian rock singer, commented on the actions which are done against Vartan Oskanian, former MFA of Armenia.
“I’m sure that the actions which are held against Vartan Oskanian have political note in them. I should recall that Oskanian in 2011 got money from John Huntsman’s foundation by the help of Civilitas, but, as you know, the actions against him started only after Oskanian returned to the Armenian political world. With the help of Civilitas, opened by Oskanian, a lot of progress was seen in Armenia. It financially helped Armenia to develop. What concerns abroad, the organization helped Armenia to develop its foreign policy. All I want is to stress that Armenians must be free in everything. They must choose their own way of life and continue according our principles and culture. Armenian democracy mustn’t be affected by the influence of U.S and Russia, we must keep the traditions which have been coming for hundreds years. ” said Tankjan stressing “We must overcome all the problems ourselves and help each other but not to do such actions against each other, and Oskanian’s example is a proof of non legal actions held in Armenia.”
