En.trend.az reports that the first hearing of Georgian citizen Darejan Kohtashvili in Malaysia will be held today. She is accused of drug trafficking.
A Malaysian court has already indicted another Georgian citizen Babutse Gorgadze, who was detained on the same charges. The second hearing on her case will be held on Dec. 5.
However, the Georgian and Malaysian foreign ministers have not yet had a telephone conversation. Amnesty International has been involved in the case.
Info – The two citizens were detained on Oct. 25 with a large quantity of drugs. According to Malaysian law, they will face death penalty if found guilty.
Georgian law enforcers detained Gorgadze’s husband Eldar Davitiani on the same charges. He is also accused of trafficking. Davitiani sent the two women to Malaysia with the drugs.
