Vache Gabrielyan ,the minister of Finance of Armenia, on September 20 during the meeting in the Government, announced that Hrant Bagratyan’s offer to raise the minimum salary in Armenia from 32.5 thousand to 72.5 thousand AMD will be too much for the state budget.
According to him, the Government of Armenia has a negative opinion on the legislative initiative of Grant Bagratyan, the former prime minister, now an opposition member of parliament.
As reported, the Minister of Finance said that in the case of such a sharp increase in the minimum wage, they will be forced to revise salaries of public institutions, which would cost the budget additional 360 billion drams. In addition, according to the minister, the economy would increase its informal sector.
