Georgia is not accustomed to the issue of homosexuality. This was stated by the leader of political coalition “Georgian Dream” billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, commenting on some not tolerant statements of his colleagues.
“Today Georgia can teach many countries tolerance in terms of religion and ethnic minorities, but the problem of homosexuality is new and therefore society does not quite understand that these people are part of our society. It takes time for us to accept the fact that they are our citizens too. We have no experience with regard to sexual minorities and we just learn it “- said Ivanishvili.
“If any of my team members made intolerant statements, they should apologize, as this is not their present position, but it was said in some emotions. This is forgivable, since we are young politicians. And if any of my team members did not apologize for his words, then he will do it, “- said the billionaire.
