The press service of Armenian Government told our journalists that today, September 18, Tigran Sargsyan, PM of Armenia, received Hamadun Ture, the general secretary of International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
During the meeting both sides stressed that there is a huge progress in Armenian IT sector.
Sargsyan assured that ITU had a great role in the progress that we have now in Armenia.
Sargsyan also noted that when recently the global competitiveness report was shown, they had used the results of IT sector reached in 2009 and added that if they had used the one which was according to 2011, Armenia would rank higher in the world.
Ture in his turn thanked Sargsyan for warm welcome and also stressed that there is a great progress in Armenian IT sector.
According to Ture, there was a mistake and later on they corrected it and now Armenia ranks first in IT sector in South Caucasus.
In the end Sargsyan said that he hopes there would be a further and deep relation between Armenia and ITU.
