One of the Russian leading political experts Maxim Minaev commented on Russia’s actions concerning Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict in the interview with Azerbaijani mass media.
Russian political expert excluded the possibility of war between Baku and Yerevan despite the escalation of the tension. “Such plot is hardly to occur as far as there is a Russian military base in Armenia and the parties long peaceful solution tothe problem.”- he said.
Speaking of Russia’s recent passiveness on the conflict the expert said: “Moscow is sure not to have lost its interest. The passiveness is accounted for by technical drawbacks connected to president-change. I think late in fall Russia will clear out its position on Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict. There is a team engaged in post-soviet politics and we can speak of possible activeness of the Kremlin.”- said Minaev.
