Georgian sources report about the first explanation of National Energy Commission Chairman Guram Chalagashvili about the possible sale of KazTransGas.
“The sale of the company will be possible only if KazTransGas – Tbilisi fully pays the debt to the state,” Chalagashvili told Kommersant radio.
According to the sources he did not mention how much of the debt has already been paid, only stressing that the term has been prolonged twice.
Earlier “PirWeli” agency reported that “For Renewed Georgia” party leader Mindia Gulua obtained a significant share in “KazTransGas-Tbilisi” company. The amount of shares purchased by the Russian businessman was not specified in the report.
Since May 12, 2006 “KazTransGas” company has operated in the Georgian market, won the auction of the Georgian government and bought the bankrupt “Tbilgaz” for $ 12.5 million.
