“Last events showed that Azerbaijan has serious problems. First of all Ilham Aliev has some psychological problems, who can imitate time by time that Safarov is in prison and then organize a show making hero from the murderer. Killing a sleeping person is a way of self-establishment for this nation”- writes “Aravot” editorial and adds:
“Self establishment on somebody else’s blood is a continuation of certain tradition. There are surely hundreds of Azerbaijani people that dislike this fact. But the regime of their country closes mouths.
But if Azerbaijani are obsessed with anti-Armenian stress, it doesn’t mean that we must do the same. Voices claiming about organizing a terror act against Safarov are fortunately not of mass nature. We have a state with it diplomatic and special services despite their disadvantages. Answering by murder to the murder we will lose the privilege that we gained in diplomacy due to Aliev’s mistake. We must patiently follow how Safarov becomes colonel and general.
It is necessary to kill those in battlefield who will try to threaten our land, our borders (including NKR) irrespective of their ethnos. The country whose hero is just a coward having fought with a sleeping person, has no chance in war. I would really worry if Safarov’s pardon were condemned in Azerbaijan.”
