Aliev’s cynicism will cost a lot to South Caucasus and his nation. It will suspend by at least 10 years the possibility of establishing peace in the region and regulating the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Armenian society was furious yesterday, one part was accusing Hungarian authorities, one part the Armenian ones.” – writes “Hraparak” in editorial and adds:
“I am impressed by the country Azerbaijan, by its leader, by its society’s way of thinking, by its behavior. The conclusion is that Aliev’s administration is more impudent and shameless than we could imagine. It doesn’t care about the international norms, principles and public. Even the Azerbaijani “Turan” news agency wrote yesterday, that Safarov’s freedom contradicts the law and Constitution and will affect negatively on Azerbaijani international prestige. As a reaction to this event Serzh Sargsyan has already invited RA security council session and gave a speech that corresponding orders are given to the diplomats and the question of continuing diplomatic relations with Hungary is being discussed. One thing is clear that Safarov’s extradition was being prepared during a whole year and throughout the whole process our authorities were unaware of the conspiracy. This means they don’t work well, they are not informed, and they have no influence.”
