Armenia is in deep depression, whereas Azerbaijan is celebrating. This definition was given by “Haykakan Zhamanak” to the events going on in our country and in our neighboring country yesterday when the following news was announced:
“The Azerbaijani officer Ramil Safarov who had axed the Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan in 2004 in Budapest was extradited to Azerbaijan where the president Ilham Aliev granted him a pardon and freed.”
Referring to the yesterday’s events “HZh” writes: “The announcement of Azerbaijan, that it’s a year they are secretly negotiating with NATO and EU member Hungary, is quite doubtful. Secretly from NATO or from EU or else from the co-chairing countries of EU Minsk Group Russia, France and the USA?
The outline is the following: 1. it is impossible that MG group countries were unaware of the so-called secret negotiations between Azerbaijan and Hungary. 2. Armenia is most likely to know about at least the last phase of Hungary’s diplomatic relations. 3. After all Armenia just stops temporarily the relations with Hungary and 5. Serzh Sargsyan presents no demands from international organizations.
We are left to guess the price of this international diplomatic scandal. One thing is clear it’s not Azerbajani inner joy, not the EU shame of having murderer free by a ember country. It’s about the price of the scandal.
According the information o “HZh”, Serzh Sargsyan has initiated an emergency NA session, but it si still unclear when it will happen.
The Press secretary of MD investigation department promised to bring clarifications about the possibility of MD starting a persecution against Ramil Safarov.
